Due to popularization and commercialization, the teachings of Yoga can be compromised, diluted and distorted. Yoga is as much about process as it is about the aim. The aim being the perfection of our body-mind-spirit potential; the process being every step towards it. This process takes time to digest and have it tested in one's own practice. To quote my Guru, Swami Narayanananda: "He Who Works For It Gets It". To become an accomplished Yoga teacher will take years of practice, study, determination, patience, and effort. The Level 2 course will address the subtle aspects of teaching methodology, detailing the inner and outer techniques of Asana, (including classical Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga and Yin traditions), Vinyasa, Pranayama, Kriyas and Meditation. It will extend into greater depth and refinement, magnifying the study of the yoga sutras and other classical texts, some presented in Sanskrit origin. For Level 2 it is required to have completed the Chicago Yoga Center's Yoga Teacher Training, Level 1 course or another qualified training. Students will be required to read several text books. |
