Diane Long Workshop The Teaching of Vanda Scaravelli October 25 - 27, 2002 Vanda Scaravelli, author of Awakening the Spine, died at her home in Florence, Italy at age 91. Vanda studied for many years with B.K.S. Iyengar and developed her own gentle way of working with gravity and the breath to maintain overall health and a naturally supple spine. Diane studied directly with Vanda in Italy. She moved to Florence in 1970 when she was 23 years old. Diane began her study of yoga with Dona Holleman, and became Vanda's
student in 1976. Vanda worked with students individually, and trained
very few students herself.

Saturday & Sunday October 26-27 |
2:00 - 5:00pm | Scaravelli Style |
At Vanda's urging, Diane began teaching first in Italy, then in Toronto and London. This year Diane is spending more time in the United States to share her years of dedicated practice. Although the essence of Vanda's work can be difficult to express in words, it was clearly visible in her own body and can be seen in the practice of the small number of students whom Vanda trained extensively. In workshops and class, Diane will demonstrate and help participants to experience the particular quality of movement, breath, and attention that Vanda taught, working hands on as much as possible with each student.
Class size is limited, please sign up early. The cost of the workshop is $125. All classes will be held at the The NU Yoga Center To reserve space, fill out and print the WORKSHOP FORM specifying |
